Tone in tone: Colored light and music together compose whole symphonies. Sound and alternating color, light and darkness create magical scenes – these are very popular in public events, especially in the summer. But the idea is not even new. Bauhaus already experimented with light and sound. Are you inspired? Then create your own light performance with your pupils/students in this project.

Historical context
Early Bauhaus already experimented with light: Ludwig Hirschfeld-Mack, a Bauhaus student, became known as the colored light musician. He developed Reflected-Light Compositions. A projector is used to project colored shapes on a screen. With specially composed music in the background templates of circles, triangles, and squares are placed in the machine and the projection starts.

LEDs, beamer and projection software etc.: New technology has greatly expanded the possibilities for using light as an artistic medium.
